This magnificent villa is one of the " Regal Villas" of the old Republic of Lucca. Their owners received here kings, princes, dukes, ambassadors, literary celebrities from the spring through to the autumn. They also held balls, various representations and concerts in the splendid surroundings of "greenery theatres".
