The wonderful Venetian Villa was built in the early 1700, and used to be the holiday residence of Niccolò da Ponte, member of a powerful Venetian family, brother of the Bishop Lorenzo.
The layout of the residence is U-shaped, like most Venetian villas, featuring in the centre the garden, on the left a small Chapel not yet restored, on the right the superb Music Hall with vaulted frescoed domes.

The Graticolato Romano
Immersed in the countryside, a few km from Padua, the villa was built on a crossing of the Graticolato Romano (The Roman Grating designed to demarcate the lands north of Padua given by Augustus Emperor to the legionary veterans) of the "cardo" C.K. III, a main polar road, and "decumano" S.D.X, a corresponding perpendicular. The Cardi and the Decumani are 710 metres and 40 cms one from the other and seen from above appear as the corner of a Street and Avenue in New York, in a Roman town planning.The Graticolato Romano is actually to be meant as a gigantic crossword, which was defining the properties limits.

The music room
When the villa is not rented for holidays, the Music Room is on hand for receptions, weddings, banquets and other events. It is closed when guests are occupying the apartment, for best privacy.
The frescoes in the Music Room are very interesting and have been attributed to Giovanbattista Crosato (1686-1758), from the school of Tiepolo.
The apartment
A marble staircase made of Custoza stone leads from the garden the noble floor where the owner has just restored an apartment on two levels with a surface of 200 sqm about.
